Our Demonstration Schools
The Clerc Center operates two accredited demonstration schools on its campus that enroll deaf and hard of hearing students. Both schools implement teaching and learning practices and promote a school climate that maximizes their academic potential in preparation for graduation and transition to postsecondary education and/or the workplace.
The Clerc Center is required to implement components of Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Read our Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) reports.
The Clerc Center is also expected to maintain exemplary elementary and secondary educational programs and to develop, evaluate, and disseminate innovative curricula, materials, and instructional techniques and strategies that can be used in various educational environments, including:
- Regular classes
- Resource rooms
- Separate classes
- Separate nonresidential schools (public or private)
- Separate residential schools (public or private)
- Homebound or hospital environments.
